Privacy Policy

Draft — not yet reviewed by counsel. This document is a placeholder and will be replaced with a finalized version prior to public launch.

This Privacy Policy explains what information GLP-1 Community collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, and credentials used to sign in.
  • Profile information: handle, display name, bio, avatar, general location (country/region), and linked creator accounts (TikTok, YouTube).
  • Self-reported health information: answers you choose to provide about GLP-1 medication use, duration, and outcomes. This information is private by default and only shared according to the per-field visibility settings you choose (private or community).
  • Usage information: basic interaction data (such as follows, fan counts, and reports) needed to operate core features.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the Service: to display your profile according to your visibility settings, connect you with other members, deliver news and notifications, and maintain the safety of the community through moderation. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Analytics

We count anonymous page visits to understand how the site is used. This does not use cookies and does not store any personal information — only aggregate daily totals. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies.

Per-field visibility for health information

Every self-reported health question you answer has its own visibility setting: private (only you) or community (signed-in members only). Health answers are never public or visible to search engines. You control these settings at any time from your privacy settings, and can change or remove your answers whenever you like.

Data retention and deletion

When you delete your account, your profile, health information, and your content and connections (such as follows, RSVPs, saved items, and reports you filed) are permanently deleted from our active systems, subject to residual copies in backups that age out over time and any records we are legally required to retain. Shows, events, or articles you submitted to the shared catalog remain, with your name unlinked from them.

Some records are kept for a limited time and then deleted automatically:

  • Security and audit logs: sign-in activity (including the email address used) and moderation/administrative action records are kept for up to 12 months, and derived security alerts for up to 6 months, for security and abuse prevention — these are retained for those periods even after you delete your account, then deleted automatically.
  • Notifications: deleted after 90 days.
  • Profile view counters: aggregate daily counts (no viewer identity) are deleted after about 13 months.
  • Unfinished sign-ups: accounts that never finish onboarding are deleted after 30 days, including any unfinished onboarding answers. Unfinished onboarding answers are also deleted the moment onboarding completes.
  • Anonymous visit counts: aggregate daily site statistics contain no personal data and are kept as statistics.

Restricting processing (see “Your rights” below) does not delete any data — the deletion timelines above still apply. The team maintains an internal operational record of these retention periods and the systems that enforce them.

Inactive accounts

We do not keep accounts forever after their owners walk away. After 18 months without signing in we email a warning to your account address; after 23 months we email a final warning; at 24 monthsthe account becomes eligible for deletion. Deletion under this policy means the same full erasure as deleting your account yourself (see “Data retention and deletion” above). Signing in at any time resets the clock.

Members who have contributed content the community relies on (such as events, media, or advocacy resources) are never deleted automatically — such accounts go to manual review instead.

Enforcement of this policy begins no earlier than 60 days after it first appears on this page; until then no account is deleted or warned under it.

To operate this policy we record the day you last used the service (not detailed activity), and nothing more.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting and authentication providers), and may disclose information if required by law.

Your rights

  • Access: you can download a complete JSON export of your data from your account settings at any time.
  • Rectification: you can edit your profile from your profile settings, and your health answers and their visibility from your privacy settings. For anything not self-serve, email hello@glp1.community.
  • Restriction of processing:the “Restrict processing” toggle in your privacy settings hides you from the member directory, community stats, and the featured-creator spotlight without deleting anything. Your profile page remains reachable by direct link, and site staff retain access to your account for moderation, safety, and legal obligations. You can reverse this at any time.
  • Erasure:you can delete your account from your settings page; see “Data retention and deletion” above for what deletion does.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note material changes here.
